How much do you know about

Many are in for valentine day, which observed on February 14 every year. As of this day when people tend to get into love, romantic or just a good friendship to exchanging candy or gifts. Everything is all about red or pink etc... If you had ever asked yourself this question, why do people encourage children to learn about valentine day just as other observing day like Halloween or Christmas? If you also question yourself about the scriptural teaching, why isn't Valentine day customs not mentioned in the scriptural book?

Parents and/or school teachers among us would teach children this custom to practice love and kindness, but the problem is for those who follow and practice only the scriptural teaching, where did this love and kindness along with red and pink Valentine’s day come from and why is this soo traditional? So here more questions, what does this valentine day origin customs really come from and when did it started the traditional? Is this another pagan traditional custom?

However, some of us would know tons of heart-shaped candy and many other are unhealthy and why are we still markets these thing? Plus, so many business advertiser throughout the media would dare advertise such sexually idea in publicly? So the bottom line here is, is this something Almighty Father from in heaven accept this? So the question again, where and when did these customs originate idea come from? Did a little about valentine day come from the Holy Scripture book? Is there history about this?

The answer is no, it is another pagan traditional custom like Christmas, Easter or Thanksgivings and this article soon will explain why. If we remember what Simon Peter stating the message in 2nd Peter chapter 2, verse 1:

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying YHUH that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

Accord to History

Did you know that centuries before YahuSha's day, pagan Romans celebrated this valentine behavior? On the evening of idolatrous and sensuous festivals in honoring of Lupercus, the "hunter of the wolves"? It is merely a rebirth of an old custom "handed down from the Roman festival of the Lupercalia, celebrated in the month of February (Februa), when names of young women were put in a box and drawn out by men as chance directed." That's the admission of the Encyclopedia Americana article entitled St. Valentine's Day." Isn't it ridiculous that women's names are drawn out of a box and men can have whoever draws out the name of any girl. It can be called "Chance Encounter." It is worst than those of a blind date.

No where in the scriptural book state about the valentine's day or does it practices the kind of love or kindness custom that people do on February 14. “Thus saith YHUH, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.” (Jeremiah 10:2-3). Also notice what Messiah’s words said in (Matthew 15:9): But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” So really, this Valentine' Day is origin customs like other paganism origin customs - Christmas, Easter, Halloween, New Year’s. This attempt us very wrongly to “whitewash” our mind to perverted customs and observances of pagan gods and idols by what they called it “Christianizing” is way bad idea.

Whitewashing Perversion

After Messiah's time, Pope Gelasius in A.D. 494, renamed the festival of Juno Februata as the “Feast of the Purification of the Virgin Mary.” The date of its observance was later changed from February 14 to February 2, then changed back to it date. It is also known as Candlemas, the Presentation of the Lord, the Purification of the Blessed Virgin and the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple.

After Constantine had made the Roman of their so-called church’s brand of Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire in A.D. 325, their leaders wanted to do away with the pagan festivals of the people. Lupercalia was high on their list. But the Roman citizens thought otherwise. It was not until A.D. 496 that the Rome was able to do anything about Lupercalia. Powerless to get rid of it, Pope Gelasius instead changed it from February 15 to the 14th and called it St. Valentine’s Day. It was named after one of the so-called church’s former saints, who, in A.D. 270, was executed by the emperor for his beliefs. This is where the name of Valentine's day come from. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, “At least three different Saint Valentines, all of them martyrs, are mentioned in early martyrologies under the date of 14 February. One is described as a priest at Rome, another as bishop of Interamna (modern Terni), and these two seem both to have suffered in the second half of the third century and to have been buried on the Flaminian Way, but at different distances from the city…Of the third Saint Valentine, who suffered in Africa with a number of companions, nothing is further known.” Several biographies of different men named Valentine were merged into one “official” St. Valentine.

The they whitewashed Lupercalia even further. Instead of putting the names of girls into a box, the names of “saints” were drawn by both boys and girls. It was then each person’s duty to emulate the life of the saint whose name he or she had drawn. This was Rome’s vain attempt to “whitewash” a pagan observance by their so-called “Christianizing” it, which the YHUH in heaven has not given man the power or authority to do that. Though this so-called church in Rome later had banned the sexual lottery, young men still practiced a much toned-down version, sending women whom they desired handwritten romantic messages containing St. Valentine’s name.

Over many centuries later, this Valentine's day became so popular, especially by the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Many were so blindly using this St. Valentine's Day idea of LOVE and kindness being foolish, while they only have 1/4 right about love and kindness to other. The problem is why not love our neighbor every day? Isn't that according in the Scripture book (Bible)? Indeed it does!

This is what our heavenly One message said “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the YHUH, am a jealous Creator One, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments. You shall not misuse the name of the Creator's, for the YHUH will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.” (Exodus 20:5-7). We may now know that St. Valentine’s Day originates came from the ancient paganism, which Satan is trying to get us influence by temp to sin. It is designed to deceive mankind by appealing to fleshly, carnal desires—or the works of the flesh. “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of YAHUAH (YHUH).” (Galatians 5:19-21). Do any of these sound like Lupercalia to us?

Our Creator Father, YHUH is the one whom we should all look up and follow and honor by his commands teaching way, HIS way of life; the LOVE he know what the best for us. HE is the ONE who create the eternal love, not this St. Valentine's day idea by man. “And we have known and believed the love that YHUH hath to us. HE is love; and thoses who that dwelleth in love dwelleth in Him, and YHUH in us” (1 John 4:16) and 1 John 4:8 said “He that loveth not knoweth not Almighty; for YHUH is love”.

“Know therefore that the YHUH is your Creator One; he is the faithful One, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep his commands” (Deuteronomy 7:9).
