Is Sabbath Law Still Applies Today?
Our Creator ONE who made heaven and earth created appointed time. According to Genesis chapter ONE, he created 1 to 6 days as a working day because he created everything during that time. Until the SEVENTH day, HE sanctified that day as special day PURE day Genesis 2:2-3
DO, do you understand what the word SANCTIFY mean?
SANCTIFY 1. Set apart for sacred use made holy and pure, CONSECRATED. 2. Made holy; pure a saint. 3. Sanctioned as with an Oath or vow. 4. To grant moral sanction to. 5. Made useful by holiness and purity. 6. Devout, virtuous, morally complete. 7. CONSECRATED WHOLLY! Completely dedicated to the whole mind/soul (mind. will and emotions).
Adam and his wife were disciplined by YAH’s way. They continue learning the way YAH expects from them. The same for all of their children who were born after them. Yet, the children have forsaken YAH’s law and have died for their sin. This including the Sabbath law, they neither ignore or forget the most importation appointed Sabbath law. Most of them end up live in their own way, the man world. They all end up being cut off (cast out) from the Israelites tribe. Most of them end up becoming a slave of men. This explained why YAH had Moses lead HIS children out of Egypt after 400 years of silence from HIM.
YAHUAH have Moses to re-educated them again about the created law HE had created, that HE does NOT want them to forget. That including the Sabbath law.
“…speak to the Israelites, saying, ‘Surely you must keep MY Sabbaths, because it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, in order to know that I am YAHUAH, who consecrates (made) you. And you must keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you; defilers of it will surely be put to death because anyone who does work on it—that person will be cut off from among his people.
On six days work can be done, and on the seventh is a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy day for YAHUAH; anyone doing work on the Sabbath day will surely be put to death. The Israelites will pay attention to the Sabbath in order to fulfill the Sabbath throughout their generations as a lasting covenant. It is a sign between me and the Israelites forever, because in six days YAHUAH made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh he ceased and recovered.” Exodus 31:13-17
Look at what Ezekiel 20:12-20 also says
“…Sabbaths I gave to them to be a sign between me and between them so they would know that I, YAHUAH, am the one sanctifying them. “But in the desert the house of Israel rebelled against me; they did not walk in my statutes and they rejected my regulations, which, if a person does them, he will live by them, and they greatly profaned my Sabbaths, and I decided to pour out my rage on them in the desert to destroy them, and I acted for the sake of my name, that it not be profaned before the eyes of the nations before whom I brought them out. And also I myself swore to them in the desert not to bring them into the land that I had given to them, flowing with milk and honey—it is the most beautiful of all of the lands— because they despised my judgments, and they did not walk in my statutes, and my Sabbaths they profaned, for their heart was going after their idols. But my eye took pity on them by not destroying them, and I did not completely destroy them in the desert. “And I said to their children in the desert, ‘You must not go in the statutes of your parents; you must not keep their regulations, and you must not make yourself unclean with their idols. I, YAHUAH, am your Creator ONE, so go in my statutes and keep my regulations and do them. And treat my Sabbaths as holy, and they will be a sign between me and between you that you may know that I, Yahweh, am your Creator Almighty ONE.”
Look at what the book of 1 Chronicles 16:12-17 said:
“Remember his wonderful works that he has done, his wonders and the judgments of his mouth, O offspring of Israel, his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones! He is YAHUAH, your Creator ONE; his judgments are in all the earth.
Remember his covenant forever, the word he commanded for a thousand generations, that he made with Abraham, his sworn oath to Isaac. And he confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, an everlasting covenant to Israel.”
You must realize that this Sabbath law is made forever covenant, a sign between YAH and HIS people. This means the Memorial Day, to remember who made us and be able to physical rest. That is why YAH told Moses to tell the people to REMEMBER the Sabbath appointed time as explained in Exodus 20:8. Look at what Jeremiah said in chapter 17:21-22.
“Thus says the Master: "Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; nor carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, nor do any work, but hallow the Sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.”
We must enter YAH’s Sabbath REST, in order to burden free and have joy with him. If we don’t enter the rest which YAH had giving us, the burden will be on our shower. Look at what YAH warned us in Hebrews 4:1-6.
Therefore let us fear (HIM YAH), while there remains a promise of entering into his rest, that none of you appear to fall short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as those also did, but (other) the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united with those who heard it in faith. For we who have believed enter into rest, just as he has said, “As I swore in my anger, ‘They will never enter into my rest.’ ”And yet these works have been accomplished from the foundation of the world. For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh day in this way: “And YAH rested on the seventh day from all his works,” and in this passage again, ‘They will never enter into my rest.’ ”Since therefore it remains for some to enter into it, and the ones to whom the good news was proclaimed previously did not enter because of disobedience
That strong message which Paul the Apostle wrote this book long after YahuSha had returned to heaven. People in those days acknowledge that the appointed Sabbath day law still alive.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30
Who said this message???? YES, it was YahuSha, the Messiah who is also the Father from heaven spoke of those words. Did you know that YahuSha is the Master of the Sabbath? Look in Matthew 12:8. The reason I am telling you that it’s he who told Moses the commandment laws, which the Sabbath law number four proclaim this setting of the appointed time.
Ever since YAH was with Moses, YAH taught him the way, it was the Master before HE came down to earth into the flesh according to John 1:14.
“…the Word became flesh and took up residence among us, and we saw his glory, glory as of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Also according to Isaiah 9:6, Zechariah 12:10, Matthew 11:27, John 10:30; 14:9 and Revelation 1:8 are all the proof statement of who YahuSha is.
As a result of YahuSha’s death on the tree, the new covenant is the only change that we no longer need to sacrifices the animals blood to get the forgiveness sins. This is why YahuSha is called the Lamb of YAH, who takes away the sins of the world. He is an extension of this lambs used by the Father old covenant sacrifices.
Most people today are still confused with YahuSha’s death which were nail the laws to the tree? That we're no longer under the law but under grace of YAHUAH. We mistakenly think we're no longer required to obey all or some of the laws. Paul disagree with that thinking because he says that He was “blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was to contrary us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his tree” according to Colossians 2:14.
How beautiful to know that the death of Him means we no longer must look at the blood of the lambs, the table of stone, or try to be perfect by our own works!
What HE did was to take away our sins on Himself to that tree, His righteousness atones blood for our sins if we simply confess that we are sinners and ask for His forgiveness. He did not release the burden of the strict law we must obey. Even YahuSha said his own words - “Do not think that I came to do away with or undo the Law [of Moses] or the [writings of the] Prophets; I did not come to abolished but to fulfill.” - Matthew 5:17
Notice what the book of James 2:10-12 said?
"For whoever shall guard all the Torah (teaching, YAH's words) and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.......So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom."
Just as how Proverbs 4:13 and 7:2, point out that we must guard HIS instructions at all times.
Please get confused with we’re no longer under the law but under grace, as we’re no longer required to follow the law. Look what Paul said in Romans 6:15
“What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves, slaves, to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin [leading] to death or of obedience [leading] to righteousness?”
The last thing to read, please read this one on your own: Isaiah 58
