Four Horsemen & the Fifth

4 horsemen and the 5th.jpg

Who are the four horsemen and the fifth in the Revelation book? Many people have been trying to project to imagination figure out what the Bible interpretation this Revelation horsemen for thousands of years. Today, it turns out that we don’t really need to do that. In this documented article, I, Bro. Pouliot will explain why. With the help of YAH, our heavenly Father spiritual words, HE can guide us to find the answer right out of the Bible alone. The Revelation book is NOT the only book that significance the four horsemen.

FYI, this document information, for now, is just part of my research work to understand the whole Revelation prophecy. I truly believe what I’ve discovered and learned about this prophecy horsemen is true what I know the answer. It is my understanding that the prophecy books in the ancient time before the Messiah was born, have been told to the ancient people the promise of the coming Messiah, the king of Israel. The prophecy book also told them that there will be a voice cried in the wilderness prepare the way for this Messiah, the king to come as explains in Isaiah 40:3. This prophecy had already been fulfilled because John the Baptist was the voice that cried in the wilderness to clear the path for the Messiah to come. This was the first coming of the Messiah. Messiah's second coming also informs us of this prophecy of his returning. After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same YahuSha, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1:9-11

This second coming prophecy had not yet happened. Because there is more prophecy to come which hadn’t happened yet. Just as the two witnesses (Rev. 11) hadn’t happened yet and they are two divine origin sent to fulfill a divine purpose before the second coming of Messiah to Israel, the four horsemen (Rev. 6) are also the divine origin sent to fulfill a divine purpose before the arrival of YahuSha to harvest the fruitful people. The four horsemen are believed to be symbolic of what events which will take place in the end times. After researching who are those horsemen, I’ve discovered they are not WHO but WHAT will come. These symbolic horsemen are explained right out of the seven seals prophecy events of what “tribulation” will set in. The first seal opens at the beginning of the final 7-year tribulation leading up to the second coming. I’ve discovered about prophet Zechariah’s prophecy that seems to match with the four horsemen (and about the two witnesses) prophecy. I’ve also discovered to learned that prophet Ezekiel also has some significance fit for the four horsemen as well.

Let the first talk about the two witnesses who will be sent here on earth to precede the Messiah’s second coming to Israel. What is their role in preparing the way for the Messiah?

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have the power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. Rev. 11:3-6

The two witnesses ’ role is to deliver YAH’s words and bring YAH’s judgment upon the unrighteous. This will happen before the seventh trumpets being blown. The Revelation book is not the only prophecy that tells us about them. YAHUAH also have revealed those future two witnesses to the prophet Zechariah as well.

And the angel that talked with me [Zechariah] came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep, And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. . . . Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, these are the two anointed ones, that stand by YAH of the whole earth. Zech. 4:1-3, 11-14

Right now, we don’t know who those two anointed witnesses are, but I have a reason to believe the possibility who they are. According to Matthew 17:3–4, Moses and Elijah both had appeared talking to YahuSha while the disciples witness this event. I believe Moses and Elijah maybe are the two anointed ones who will appear before the second coming of the Messiah.

Now let talk about the four horsemen. First, let see what John saw the following vision in Rev. 5:1-5:

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to lose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders' saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

YAH gave vision to John the drawing attention to Heaven, that it’s the King of Kings who opens the seals in Heaven, and with the opening of the first four seals, the King’s Four Horsemen are released. Vision from Heaven gave John the following events as what will happen:

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another red horse: to and power was given him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and grave followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Rev. 6:1-8

Now, we know this seems like a lot of death is going to happen from these horsemen which will come. Yet, it is not clear who are these horsemen. However, the passage's message about these horsemen may appear to be speaking of symbolical, which gives us the figurative meaning. Just as many other passages verses in the Revelation book are figurative speaking. After doing the research, it turns out that these Revelation four horsemen are not a person but a spirit. Because I’ve discovered and learned that YAH already reveals about horsemen in the book of Zechariah 6:1-8.

And I turned, and lifted my eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; the mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; in the second chariot black horses; And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my Master? And the messager answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the YAH of all the earth. The black horses which therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; the grisled go forth toward the south country. And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and from through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and from through the earth. So they walked to and from through the earth. Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

So, the question here, are those four horsemen we learned about in the Revelation book the same for the coming four chariots which explains in the book of Zechariah? It seems to me that these riders of the chariots and horses are the same message that gives us the meaning. This means that the riders appear to be the four spirits of the heavens.

Another thing I have noticed in those passage verses, the two mountains in which the four chariots came out from between it are what I believe to be the two (anointed) witnesses as the two olive branches. Just as the bowl which the two olive branches place between explains it in Zechariah chapter four. This may be true, so let continue more about these four spirits of the heavens and see what the spirits will do there.

It appears that these four horsemen have the powers to fulfill this future prophecy in the Revelation book, which is the spirit that comes from heaven. Therefore I strongly believe this is NOT a person that will come but a spirit that will come to fulfill these prophecy events.

And power was given unto them [the Four Horsemen] over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Rev. 6:8

It may appear that prophet Ezekiel was revealed this significance “four spirits of the heavens” message first according to Ezekiel 14:21-23.

For this is what the Sovereign Master says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments—sword and famine and wild beasts and plague—to kill its men and their animals! Yet there will be some survivors—sons, and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought upon it. You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign Master.

The divine judgment is the final stage of a just and patient Almighty ONE who seeks for all to be saved. When divine redemption is beyond the reach of man’s mind because of man’s depravity, then judgment must follow—for YAH is a righteous, just and judgment ONE. The divine judgment is not only upon the unrighteous Gentiles, but also as seen throughout the Old Testament, divine judgment is upon “faithless” people.

This is what the Sovereign Master says: This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her. Yet in her wickedness, she has rebelled against my laws and decrees more than the nations and countries around her. She has rejected my laws and has not followed my decrees. Therefore this is what the Sovereign Master says: You have been more unruly than the nations around you and have not followed my decrees or kept my laws. You have not even conformed to the standards of the nations around you. Therefore this is what the Sovereign Master says: I myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I will inflict punishment on you in the sight of the nations. Because of all your detestable idols, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again. - Ezek. 5:5-9

YahuSha prophesied us about this end-times judgment in Matthew 24:21:

For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

Ezekiel expounded upon this time by addressing the four dreadful judgments of God:

When I [YAHUAH] shoot at you with my deadly and destructive arrows of famine, I will shoot to destroy you. I will bring more and more famine upon you and cut off your supply of food. I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I the Creator ONE have spoken. - Ezek. 5:16, 17

Ezekiel prophesied these “four dreadful judgments” and John prophesied the same judgments which will be delivered: the Four Horsemen.

Noticed what YAH said, “I will shoot the deadly and destructive arrows of famine” I have a reason to believe this fit with Revelation 6:2:

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

I believe this BOW is the white horse spiritual work which YAH will shoot. I also believe the sword which YAH will bring the SWORD against the wicked is the same for Revelation explain in 6:4.

And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

This sword is the spiritual power work from heaven sending famine, wild beasts, and plague to the wicked to death. This also explains that people in those time will kill one another.

And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. - Rev. 6:8

YahuSha himself made this clear revelation about this message also in Matthew:

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. - Matt. 24:7, 8

There is another thing I’ve learned in Matthew chapter 24 “beginning of sorrows”, this seems to connect with the woman which are in labor giving birth and she cries in pain. This fits with Revelation 12 and Isaiah 13:8, 9.

Following the salvation of the church, the birth pains shall intensify, for now, shall be the time of wrath:

“And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it”

The divine harmony of divine revelation given to us by Ezekiel, Zechariah, John, and Matthew reveals this: The “four spirits of the heavens”—who are the Four Horsemen—shall bring YAH’s “four dreadful judgments” spirit upon the earth: the birth pains. This is not to say that all the birth pains are delivered by the four horsemen but people. Because of the Bible often symbolic the woman as people of Yah’s creation or Yah’s children - Genesis 37:6-10, Ephesians 5:23-32, Revelation 19:7-8. In Revelation chapter 12, the symbol of the woman is the nation of Israel, and in Revelation 17 and 18 she represents the false system of Babylon. In Isaiah 47, a woman is again symbolic of Babylon (whether the nation or the system of Babylon). Revelation chapter 12 is a perfect description for Genesis 37:6-10.

Jacob in this Genesis book clearly understood that he was the sun, his wife was the moon, and his twelve children were the stars. This is the root of the nation of Israel. In the same explaining of Revelation chapter 12, these symbols are used for two reasons. One is to signify the root of the woman portrayed there, that she is Israelitish: sun, moon, stars—Jacob, Rachel, and the twelve sons. But the sun, moon, and stars also have a secondary meaning: to indicate glory. She is a glorious woman—one that can be associated with the glorious things in heaven—the sun, moon, and stars.

The “four spirits of the heavens” are like the agents from heaven which will deliver judgment on the earth. This kind of judgment will be the tribulation time. In the case of the end-times judgment, tribulation represents birth pains.

With the Four Horsemen on the Earth comes tribulation—which the church is transformed out of:

“And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” - Rev. 7:13, 14.

This is saying that YAH’s worthy fruitful people (church) will not receive HIS’s judgment, but they will still be on earth when these judgments time are released and therefore is in the presence of tribulation.

The fifth Horseman which explains in Revelation chapter 19, represents a person this time. Who will bring an end to the time of wrath—and the end the Anti-Messiah. The four horsemen mark the beginning of the end of all that prophesied will fulfill the promises given to Israel.

I [John] saw heaven standing open and there before I was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of YAH, the Almighty ONE. On his robe and his thigh, he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND MASTER OF MASTERS.

Messiah, the Master is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. (Isa. 66:15). This will happen when the YahuSha is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know YAH and do not obey the Good News about HIM. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the YAH and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his pure people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. (2 Thess. 1:7-10)

This is also the fulfillment of what Gabriel revelation to prophet Daniel, when the Anti-Messiah shall be destroyed: “And on a wing of the temple he [the Anti-Messiah] will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him” (Dan. 9:27).

This white horse in Rev. 19 once again represents YahuSha whom mouth goeth out is a sharp two-edged sword, because this sword HE used is the Spirit word of YAH - Eph. 6:17 He is YAH who can speak in power to kill.

If YahuSha will deliver war for righteousness' sake, we must understand what role of the red horse do? The power is given to the red horse (spirit) to carry out the individual role of producing war founded upon righteous judgment. War brought about by this red horse (that precedes the salvation of the YAH’s people with HIM) foreshadows the war that Messiah himself will wage against the Anti-Messiah (that precedes the salvation of Israel).

What about the black horse? What does this receive “balances?” According to prophet Daniel, he did mention “balances”, in the context of judgment and the corresponding consequences:

Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. . . . Thy kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians. - Dan. 5:27, 28

The “wages of sin” point out the meaning of this from the book of Roman 6:23 I’ve learned from; “For the wages of sin is death”.

So this “balances” given to the spirit of the black horse is the metaphorical representation of YAH’s divine judgment. The judgment of man shall be upon YAH’s decision: what man sows is what man shall reap; what man shall receive shall be balanced against what he earned (in life).

At last, the spirit of the pale horse, this one seems to bring the grave (Hades). This is where and how I believe the judgment of death brings this grave for unrighteousness.

Now, with all this research of getting to know what the four horsemen are and the fifth, I have to reason to believe that the spirit of the four horsemen all happen in a different time and the Revelation 19 white horseman will happen once. Because if the spirit of the black horsemen already happens in the day of Medes and Persians according to Isaiah chapter 13, why is it seem happening in our time during the Coronavirus event? Many deaths are happening around the world right now by this plague (Coronavirus) and the Gas as oil and wine as a beverage in our nation seem to be okay for now. Gas price has gone down with good price and we are not losing such beverage to drink when we are thirsty. This seems to fit with the spirit of the black horsemen as well. Many things had happened in the ancient day similar to our day, that why I believe all this spirit of the four horsemen came more than once.

The Revelation chapter 6 four horsemen we now know are the four spirits of heaven which come from the power of YAH. Chapter 19 white horse is YahuSha who riding on it, is the only event that will happen once. Because this is the second coming of the Messiah, YahuSha. All these prophecy events must all follow before he returns to earth to harvest his fruitful people.
